Maintain healthy hair

Maintaining healthy hair doesn't have to be time consuming or expensive.

Simple habits like using a leave-in conditioner, protecting your hair from heat and exposure
and eating a well-balanced diet can contribute to beautiful, strong, healthy hair.

10 WAYS TO GET HEALTHIER LOOKING HAIR

1. TURN DOWN THE HEAT - Heat can be over used very easily and it is best to start at a low setting and work your way up to the heat setting that works best for you. Fine and blonde hair does best about 350°F while coarse hair can take 420-440°F. Start with the iron setting low and increase until you notice your hair responding to the iron.

2. TAKE VITAMINS - The things we put on our hair topically are great but they can never be part of the building processes our body does when it creates the hair we grow. Nourishing from the inside is maybe even more important than the topical things we can add. A good multivitamin with biotin is what you’ll want to look for.

3. USE LESS SHAMPOO - Shampooing is about scalp health and honestly, we needn’t shampoo daily. Shampoo too frequently can dry out our scalp and even our hair.

Next time you find that you really feel like you need to shampoo, try just a a thorough rinse only between shampoos if you really feel the need get your hair wet. If you’re still feeling like you need an extra kick you can try our Chic Geek Cream Cleanser. It is a sulfate-free, oil cleanser designed to breakdown sweat, dirt and excess product. Benefits for using the Cream Cleanser are less product use for the restyle and you’re conditioning your hair and scalp before using a traditional sudsing shampoo again. Alternating an oil cleanser between shampoos can move your from 7 hair wash days to 3 a week! Think of all the moisture retained.

4. MASSAGE YOUR SCALP - Increasing blood flow to the scalp is a fantastic way to ensure your hair is nourished from the inside out. Try a silicone shampoo brush and a scalp massager
